The Autumn Heart & Soul Retreat is on the Isle of Iona at the tranquil and welcoming Iona Hostel. Tucked in amongst the rocky outcrops and flower meadows, Iona Hostel looks out to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles, and beyond Rhum to the distant Black Cuillins of Skye. Our Yoga & Meditation retreat offers the opportunity to chill out and connect with this exceptional island.

Yoga and Meditation Course
The course will include carefully aligning classic poses, variations and vinyasa flows, some wonderful breathing techniques and relaxations, and special guided meditations. We also focus very much on tuning in to the present moment with nature and island life. You will learn to follow your intuition and will leave with plenty of strong tools for future practice. The course is suitable for beginners and those with more experience - as we are a small group I can give help and guidance to everyone individually.

Daily Plan
We’ll have a guided meditation and an energising yoga class in the morning. After lunch you can explore the rich and vibrant island landscape, spend the afternoon on a secluded white sandy beach or take a walk to the historic Iona Abbey. I bring my library of yoga related books to dip into so you can curl up on the sofa with a mug of herbal tea and read. There’ll also be some artists’ materials and paper available for anyone who wants to flex their creative muscles! Halfway through the week there’ll be a guided walk with local expert David Alloway from Iona Trails. Before dinner we regroup for our second yoga class of the day - a gentle restorative session with guided relaxation. For dinner we’ll be enjoying delicious vegetarian dishes and desserts, with an emphasis on using local and seasonal organic produce. We always eat well on retreat!
